RGF discusses opposition to Amendment 4 (paid Legislature) w/ KOAT 7

The Rio Grande Foundation has made its concerns over Amendment 4 (on this fall’s ballots) clear. You can find details on other concerns like public employees double dipping here. Channel 7 did a fair story about the amendment and included RGF’s concerns. You can find the story here. There are numerous reasons to oppose the amendment, not the least of which is that it would make New Mexico the highest paid in the region with a generous per diem and pension.

There is zero evidence that the Legislature will actually do a better job if it is paid.
