Dean is a co-author of the Fraser Institute’s annual “Economic Freedom of North America” report which ranks all 50 states, the Canadian provinces, and now even Mexican states on economic freedom. Among US states New Mexico performs poorly ranking 46th. What is economic freedom? Why does New Mexico score poorly? How does that impact New Mexicans? Those are some questions discussed with Dean. In the final 15 minutes of the show Gessing interviews Sandoval County Commissioner-elect Jay Block about the newly-ascendant Republican majority in Sandoval County and how he sees Sandoval gaining from missteps by Benalillo County and the City of Albuquerque.
