Criminal Justice Policy in New Mexico: Keys to Controlling Costs and Protecting Public Safety (Updated)

In October 2013, a bipartisan joint legislative committee was designed to develop a rewrite of the state’s criminal laws. This represents an ideal opportunity for New Mexico to learn from recent successful reforms in other states that can enhance public safety, reform offenders, and control costs to taxpayers.
