RGF’s Paul Gessing comments on Bernalillo County spending for investigations of employees

The Rio Grande Foundation is always concerned with government’s propensity to spend money unnecessarily. So, when KOB-TV asked for comment on Bernalillo County using private investigators to track government workers suspected of not doing their jobs, we were happy to offer our thoughts. Overall, it is certainly not something you want to do a lot due to the cost, but as taxpayers we want government workers to perform their duties. In the private sector, this wouldn’t even be a problem as workers not doing their jobs would simply be fired.
