Paul reviewed a school choice conference he attended in Denver. Dowd and Paul provided a review of Dan Mitchell’s talk in Albuquerque, the New Mexico economy and how legislators can use the Foundation’s “Freedom Index” to improve performance. Dowd has analyzed the growth or decline in GDP for New Mexico and other states. Overall, the Foundation’s philosophy of limited government is not reflected in economic development policy. Dowd and Paul also discuss Winthrop Quigley and his recent column outlining differences between the New Mexico and Arizona economies and go on to address the concept of “helicopter money.”
